Mine cOme on automatically when selecting reverse

They will beep if I am near a wall straight away and will keep active but not beeping until I reach a forward speed and the doors kocknor there abouts, since the back sensors are on the front are on too, they will beep also if something gets near

Both my front or rear sensor keep beeping in D, N, R and will only deactivate once P is selected

Reactivating only by selecting R or pressing the button on the dash

Same as mine, glad no one was watching me a few minutes ago, went outside (and its Censored cold here also) start engine, select reverse, Beeps to let you know its active, select neutral, go back to the rear and they beep to let you know something is near, go round to the front, yes they beep, back to the rear they beep, drive off get the doors to lock, stop select neutral go to the back no beep, round to the front no beep, park back on the drive. Thud

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HST Manual Santorini Black

still a little confused....

so on a manual if you reverse into a space againt the wall using sensors, stop while they are beeping, and put car out of reverse and into neutral the sensors are still beeping??

To stop mine beeping in neutral I have to press the button on the dash (or obviously move fowards away from the wall out of range of sensors).

Anyone with a manual confirm thiers is the same or diffrent?

Thanks again for all the help guys.

They will continue to beep as long as the sensor thinks there is an obstacle within range and there is power going to the sensor. As yuo say only way to switch off the beep is press the button on the dash or turn the engine off. However, when you turn the engine back on they will beep unless you've managed to move away from the obstacle while switched off which is unlikely.

My manual fl2 did exactly the same as your khewitt, you want it to beep out of gear, what if you was parking on a hill and rolled forward out of gear

I'm not saying it's not normal, what he says in his post that I highlighted in RED ours doesn't do and thats on both the FL2 & the D3 Rolling Eyes ______________________

Read his post again Nick, he was reversing into a space against a wall, not moving forward Rolling Eyes ______________________

I know Smile , the manual FL2 will keep the the sensors on, whether they were activated by reverse gear or the switch (which has to be pressed to turn them on if you are parking forwards )

They are on until the car register you pressing the off button Or your driving off at over X mph Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The GS stops when you put the car in neutral as we do not have a deactivate button on the dash.

Mmm I wondering if they have changed the way it works on new models, or the button is therefore cars with front sensors

Iirc the GS is rear sensors only, so it makes sense that they turn off when you select something other than reverse Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

My manual was a SE with front sensors too and a button

Anybody out there with front sensors, a button a minute or two to check and post back Question Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
