What do I get???

Hi All

Just started looking at FL2 for the misses so not fully up to speed yet, as it will be our second car we don't want to invest big money. Were looking to trade a 54 plt VW GT TDI with av miles and put money to, so total about 12-13K is this viable or will they all be high mileage lowest spec lease vehicles? Any advice welcome before I start the search in earnest.

Cheers RRS Bali Blue HSE.

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Sumatra Black

Hi don't think you will get one for 12-13K the cheapest i have seen is 15k and that was a base model on a 07 plate. Try Land Rovers web site and look at the used cars, it will give you a better idea of prices. Thumbs Up

autotrader has just brought up a few FL2 for your money

2007 S Auto 95k Miles £10950 to a 2007 XS Manual with ?? miles for £12795 which looks to be a loss leader as you need to phone them and you'll get the "oh thats been sold

Why not speak to James at site sponsors Lookers Park Royal and see what can be found, with the people trading in for the MY2011 there might be a few somewhere near your budget Idea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Quick Autotrader search reveals:
Below £13k = 5
Below £14k = 10

£12-13k will be something with high miles, consequently a full service history and a decent warranty should be priorities for your purchase decision.

Please don't get the 1 series you will spend less on the initial purchase but twice as much keeping it going, then being put off LR for life.

Ensure you read ad210358's post up to page 3, the original sale price was over a year ago, if the lady needs the sale there will be movement if only through depreciation............ steer well clear of FL1 Thumbs Up 2010 FL2 XS Auto in Santorini Black with HSE alloys

Yeah I've heard some horror stories about them but wasn't so sure if it was the 1.8 petrols that had all the bother which I was gonna steer clear of and go for a TD4. looks like I'm gonna have my head in bits for a few weeks, again thanks for the replies and any more advice welcome. Been looking on alot of the local LR sites and can't find anything under 20+ K Sad Whats the best way to get hold of James is it usually just a PM to him Question RRS Bali Blue HSE.

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

as stated avoid Freelander 1 at all costs - if you want to waste your money simply send it all to me!! Whistle

Might be worth trying the car supermarket type places as they tend to have 1 or 2 knocking around from time to time. My local one in Cannock has 2 but unfortunately 2010 models, one of them though is the Sport limited edition which is the first I have ever seen for sale second hand - so it pays to do your hunting!!

Rudski,

Just to confuse things I am in the office today!! Thumbs Up

Sadly, we very rarely get FL2's that we can retail for the sort of budget that you are looking at. Being an 'Approved Used' dealer we have pretty high standards of preparation which means that a older higher mileage vehicle is less likely to meet our standards, and if it does then it will cost a fair bit to prepare to the correct level.

I will certainly keep an eye out for you, and our stock can be seen at www.lookerslandroverlondon.co.uk (select Park Royal once in the used car locator), but being honest, I doubt we will get something Embarassed . Best bet is to try the specialists, and where possible buy on reccomendation from someone else.

Depending on whether you were looking to fund the balance, then we may be able to save a little here and there and used a guaranteed future value, and get you into a newver vehicle for the same monthly payment?

Apologies that we've not got anything for you, but as mentioned I will keep a look out for something.

James Thumbs Up
