Just bought 07 HSE - Recall woes

Hi - I have just bought a late 07 HSE and have noticed the a pillars have worn from seatbelt etc etc. Is there any way i can have it sorted as the MFW has just run out.

Is there an angle that it was a design flaw etc?

Any advice appreciated.

thanks

Andy

many owners have had this problem so would suggest that it is a design flaw. Might be worth asking your Local Landrover dealer whether or not you can make a warranty claim but chances are if you bought it from an independant garage or private you will come into a brickwall with them. Perhaps contact LR Customer Care but again from personal experience I wouldnt hold much hope.

You never know till you try!! Thumbs Up

Good choice by the way! Thumbs Up

Not sure how your car is designed, but if your a-pillars are worn from the seatbelt you have a serious problem Wink

If the b-pillar on the other hand is worn you can check this out.

It is a well known fault, mine have been replaced. If your car is from an LR dealer and has full LR service history, then I would expect LR would look at contributing towards the cost.

If not, then you'll be up against a brick wall as already mentioned. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I only noticed this today when I cleaned the inside for the first time in 2 months of ownership Embarassed
I have a big service due in March do I'll get it looked at then.
The plastic must be really soft for the seat belt to cut through it like that.

My 57 GS had them replaced as a routine recall when the PTC heater was fixed.... when we parted with it the replacements had worn again (< 2 years later).

There were two grooves on each side - one from me and the other from swmbo - as the belt came out at slightly different angles depending on who was seated where.

It's purely cosmetic and is better (safer) than the belts' edges fraying due to abrasion on a harder plastic.

It had no effect on the PX price we got!
