Privacy glass

Getting privacy glass done today to the rear windows, will post some before and afters.

Hunted around and prices ranged from £500 to £170, friend recommended a place and had his done, so will be going with the £170 which I think is very cheap.

I think the privacy really suits the FL2 particularly mine which is Sumatra Black Razz

My old Honda had the film tints, not bad reasonably priced (£200) compared to factory fitted glass (£400) but I had to have one of the back windows re-tinted three times, once becaused it bubbled (after 6 weeks, caused by a spec of dirt being trapped during the film being applied), and the other two times because the kids damaged the film!!

Would not be without priacy glass but this time arround I would of been happy to pay extra for the glass rather than a film, due to the ease that the film can get damaged (runs to the local tip, kids etc) and also a chap I work with had a window damaged and his insurance company only paid for the replacement glass to be fitted and not the film, claiming that it was not a standard fit.

Would totally agree with your comments on the privacy glass, but car did not come with this when purchased.

Apart from the usual `scratching` and affixing problems associated with film privacy glass, factory fitted privacy glass shows the orange heater elements on the side and rear windows dulled, ie, they are not so visible, whereas with the film the heater elements appear as bright orange stripes. I prefer the factory fitted privacy glass, and opted for a two month wait because of this. But hey, it (should) arrive a month on saturday. Very Happy

Isn't it Pentagon which is also a security film, I wanted to go for this rather than factory fit for security reasons. I will try them as well, and see if I can get a reply.

That's the one. Though as somebody else oh here pointed, unless you actually leave valuables in the car or live somewhere where carjacking is a real problem, is security film worth it? It serves no deterrent value. Sure, it stops the window smashing, but you're still left with a broken window. Less picking bits of glass out of the upholstery I suppose.

I think Pentagon prefer to speak to you on the phone to discuss quotes which is why I'm guessing they're ignoring my e-mails (bad customer service though), so if you do get a quote I'd be very interested to hear what it is.
