Single CD Changer Swop out for 6 Disc CD Changer

Hi People,
My father-in-law has a 09 XS with a Single CD Player. He ideally wishes to have a 6 disc CD Changer.
1. Can anyone tell me if this is a swop in and out (from a dimension point of view)? Also, I believe the new unit will need to be coded at the dealership, is this right?
2. Does anyone know the cost of a 6 disk CD changer, second hand or new?

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks,

Chris

Might it be worth him creating some MP3 CDs -that way you can many albums on one CD - that's what I do

Consider the fact that the 6 CD unit also reads MP3s.
So if you can put several albums on a single CD, imagine what can you put on 6 CDs... Thumbs Up

i've sent a pm, i've got a spare 6cd player.

Might sound stupid but are you sure you have the single cd player? You have to hold down the cd number that you want the cd to load too, if that makes sense.

Thumbs Up

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how easy would it be to swop out the two units?
Is this a job for the LR techs?
Cheers

Sorry to drag up an old thread but better than starting a new one. I'm wanting to swap my single CD unit for a 6 CD one.
Is it a case of just changing the unit behind the dash like in the picture,

Does the same facia work? Do I need the car plugging in and telling it's been changed or will it just work straight away.
Thanks 2007 TD4 XS Manual in Sumatra Black
