parking sensors

Just got my F2 home and the on checking everything over as you do, found the parking sensors won't work. I mentioned this to the garage and they have "forgotten" to check them over. I am intending on going back to them(NON LANDROVER) but just wondered if there was actually a way of turning them off completly. If so how do you turn them back on. The button on the dash flashes and goes off but i can't get them on. Even reverse doesn't switch them on.
Fuse is OK by the way.

It's a 'back to the purchasing garage' job Rich,
There's two ways of activating the sensors .....either selecting reverse or pushing the switch on the dash which activates the front (Do you have them ?) and rears. The switch is for when you are driving into a parking space. Activation is confirmed by a beep and the red light within the switch coming on.
After selecting reverse and moving out from say a parking space then driving forwards they stay on for about another 10 seconds. (Which is interesting if you shortly come to a junction and someone pulls up behind you Rolling Eyes )
Never seen the waring light actually flash Shocked

I've got exactly the same problem - Sensors stopped working, and a long tone and flashing indicator on switch, indicating a fault.

Is this a common fault, and if so is there a cheap and easy fixit? Saw it, wanted it, threw a tantrum, got it!

This happened to my FL2 which is now 4 years old. Took it to a local garage and it was just a faulty sensor - they replaced it with a new one and the total cost was about £130 which included the original diagnostics, new sensor, painting it the correct colour and fitting.... Not sure if that is the going rate or not? Question
