When is the decision by Ford going to be announced? I'm seriously concerned by the implications of LR being bought by private equity companies. My sister had a Rover when that went and suddenly she had a car she couldn't give away. I'm not saying that will happen to such a prestige brand as LR but it is a concern. Anyone heard anything or any thoughts?

I think you shouldn't worry - at least if your second car isn't a Jaguar. Jaguar and Rover incurred nothing but losses every year but Land Rover is profitable.
What worries me more is that LR could be bought by a company that decides to make cheap fake off-roaders in order to increase sales. Look to what happened with Jaguar: instead of improving their quality they made Ford Mondeo's (which is not a bad car) with a Jag logo and so ruined their image of a prestiguous carbuilder.

Whoever buys LR, let's hope they respect and continue its philosophy.
