Used to fix cranes for a living - you get used to it after a few years.

Lets be serious falling from 30ft on to concrete is as likely to kill you as 300ft

Blow that not clipping on lark, your hands get cold and cramp after a while in the winter, only takes one mistake for it to be your last. I can think of several colleges who would have died when they lost thier grip.

Even if you are clipped on and your lanyard saves you, you have about 20 mins before toxic shock starts to set in, due to restricted blood supply - use your imagination.
Thats why two man teams should be the norm.
