Water Ingress

Hi,
First post and already needing help. I discoverd my nearside footwell flooded a couple of days ago and spent some time reading up on this forum.
I have pulled the carpet back and dried the floor and as much of the carpet as poss.
Put talc down to try and help spot any run marks (car smells lovely)
Ran the car with Climate Control on for about 20 mins in the drive. hving troible spotting this famous drain pipe though.
Hosed the Windscreen and nearside door with no obvious signs.
I did hit a large puddle at speed recently but I would have thought that any water wouul have been in both footwells.
Any tips would be most appreciated.

Jd

pics sent mate re air con drain pipe. mine sometimes leaked on the right and then sometimes on the left. Its clean none smelling water which may help eliminate the 'puddle stuff' and the pipe has a rubber lip on it, make sure you dont fold it into itself when fitting. you can see from the pics what i mean.

let me know how you get on Thumbs Up freelander 2 SE black and beige - now sold

Thanks to all for replies, especially for the Photos. I took the car to work today with the aircon running.
When I arrived there was water running(almost spurting) down the transmission tunnel on the passenger side opposite where the pipe in the photos is. So that is a start.
Hopefully lady Luck will smile on me later.
I was having trouble with the Terrain Response System earlier in the year, don,t know if the Garage were poking around in the area but perhaps they have dislodged the pipe.
Fingers crossed.

Not yet. Had a look on return from work. The pipe appears to be on but i was having trouble getting into it.
Had to use a torch and mirror to see- how you managed to get your head down to it amazes me.
Possibly a bad seal, toyed with removing and refitting but not keen.
Water is clear it did not stain some white cloths I put under leak which seems to be around the drain connection.
Have another play tonight or over the W/E.
Just to add salt to the wound, the last three morinings I have had a Transmission failure warning. Had the haldex unit replaced in May so I will speak to Dealer on that one !

Thank you for your interest.

Well, so much for fingers crossed sneaky water was still coming in!
I video taped the area around the hose using my camera and the water is dripping from the area of the hose.
Hose seems to be attached but I cannot be 100% sure - don't have a drip under the car from the drain which I thought I would. Toying with pulling it off and checking for splits/blockage etc.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Will have a look at it but I doubt this is the problem. Driver side is dry, the passenger side is the one getting wet and the carpet under the dran Pipe is well soaked with the water running down the drive shaft tunnel on nearside. The leak was not there when the Aircon was off but started the car with Air con running and after some minutes the water started running. I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and go to the Garage ! Neutral

Well I stepped out in faith and took your advice, pulled the drain off.
And yes it is a sod to get back on but it looks like it has done the trick.
What I did notice was the little tongue on the end of the hose was inside the tube which I thought odd.
Will run for a few days (again) before putting all the bits back.

Well, I am pleased to say that this eems to have done the trick. The small tongue on the end of the pipe was jammed inside the pipe. I presume that this was wrong and was causing a bad seal.
Could the pipe have been dislodged by the dealers during checking out the Terrain Response and then replacing the Haldex unit or the PTC heater.?
THe Haldex was changed in May and in terms of time would seem the more likely culprit.

Thanks, been running dry since my last post so all's well.
Pulled the dealer up over it, though, as it did not get like that by itself and it was not like that when it left the showroom.
They have told me to bring it in and they will check that it it is secure before I finally button it up.
