Goodyear Wrangler or Pirelli Scorpion

Wife needs a new set of tyres on her 08 HSE. Currently has Wranglers but noticed new models now come with Scorpions. Any feedback on what to go for? Thumbs Up

On the read ups ive seen, pirelli scorpions wont last as long as wranglers and in the long run will cost you more. Ive since had a new set of wranglers. If you look up several tyre reviews judge for your self best of luck on what you chose. Thumbs Up

For info, no idea if they're standard across the range or not but our 2010 GS arrived with a set of Wranglers?

Certainly seem to perform pretty well - on & off road!

When the time came for a new set of tyres I stayed with the Wranglers. I thought 34000 miles from the first set was reasonable. They still had a bit of mileage left in them.

I had a set of pirelli on my bmw 3 and they only lasted 17,000 miles, what a load of rubbish as they cost £750 to replace on 17" wheels.

07 HSE came with Wranglers the grip on muddy fields came into question when I got stuck. I then fitted Scorpions and perhaps I don`t chance it as much being wise after the fact but I feel much more confident off road, the winter snow was not a problem. I haven`t noticed anymore road noise.

Still running my FL2 on the original Wrangler tyres - 30,000 mile and still abit left on them yet although had a nail in the side wall a couple of days ago so had to get a replacement -£150 which I didnt think was too bad.

Last week Quickfit were quoting £120 if you order online, but you might have to buy four - check their website. My local tyre man in S London is doing me three at £140 each with all fitting etc included.Quickfit were (I think) £160 if you just go in and buy them.

£360 for 3 new tyres...............or £450-£500 for a set of (4) brand new alloys WITH tyres !!

Mine currently have the Wranglers on them, cant be certain they are original, but I think they are (36k miles). 2mm of tread on the front and 3mm on the rear.

I bought a new set of alloys with the Scorpions on.

They are supposed to be softer, offering more grip on the road surface (hence why they are not meant to last as long).

I'd rather have more grip than more wear though to be honest.

BestBuyTyres are doing 235 65 17 Wranglers for £130 all-in online right now. Just had the rear two replaced today. Thought I had bit longer with the front ones, but have been told theres only about 1k-2k miles left in them, so replacing them next week for same price.
They have lasted just around 30k in total.
