Germany 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Alaska White
Decoding the VIN

I thought I had sussed out how to decode the VIN:

SAL - Landrover
FA2 - freelander2
2 - Diesel
3 - ?
B - Non DPF
2 - ?
8 - MY (2008)
H - Factory code (Halewood)
xxxxxx - Serial No

Then I got the VIN for my new car (2.2 Man e.)

SALFA2 (OK)
2 - Diesel
C - ?
B - Non DPF
C - ??
2 - ???? (should be A for 2010 if following convention)
Hxxxxxx - Halewood + Serial No

I know it's not life threatening, but if someone could fill in the blanks I would be really grateful just to satisfy my own curiosity. Very Happy Very Happy Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

No not for UK spec certainly -although it will probably come at some point sadly. Perhaps its an option for rest of europe.

Not an "option" in Scandinavia - all have DPF fitted as from ca. June/July 2007.

And why sadly if you are helping stopping polution by having a PDF Question
In addition vehicles fitted with DPF here pay less road tax than those without Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.

Sorry I know we're verring this off topic....I don't object to lower CO2 - but DPF have a reliablity problem and are only suited to certain types of journey - until they fix that I' will try and avoid having one - certainly VAG group have had quite a few DPF problems
