England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver
Towing eye cover

Does anybody know the part no for the standard front towing eye cover ?

I have just removed the body kit front and rear so need to replace the cover. Are they available as a replacement part?

The body kit came off easy, I was prepared for a long struggle with an hair drier & fishing wire to break the adhesive bond, but it nearly dropped off when I removed the screws, I removed the residue left from the glue & tape with white spirit & t cut, you can't tell a kit has been on.

If anybody wants to make an offer before it goes on ebay please do.

There is a small crack on the rear bit at the corner of the tow eye cover about 10mm long & 1 of the rear tow eye cover plastic retaining screws is missing.
the front bit is in 3 seperate sections, the old mounting tape/foam would need removing & new fitting.

The bits are Zermatt Silver with the usual stone chips to the front bits. What if there were no hypothetical situations?

We all know that a tow bar can be fitted to FL2 with the body kit despite being told you can't do it, so I was suprised to find on the inside of the rear cover cutting lines for both the Euro fit tow bar & the USA fit towbar !

I plan to fit a tow bar, will the 13 pin universall electrical kit as listed here be suitable.

I can live with turning the sensors off manually & without the light on the dash, what are the advantages of paying the extra for a dedicated kit & will a dedicated kit work without a trip to the stealers for a software update. What if there were no hypothetical situations?

To be strictly legal some kind of warning device is required for the trailer indicators either audio or visual will be required. So a trip to the dealer will be one solution should you fit the dedicated wiring. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior
