2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

I had my Freelander 2 serviced today and I got a call from the dealership to say that my two front wheels are on 2mm and 3mm, while the back ones are on 4mm each. They said they also need alignment, as there is a slight uneven wear. They quoted me nearly £800 for 4 tires (I said I want to change all 4 at the same time). What do you guys think? That sounds WAY too expensive...

My wheels are 18'' (the rest is standard 235/60, I think. I shall check when the car is back). I think I shall be looking around for a better price...

Thanks for that. It is indeed cheap this tyre/wheel combo. I get the feeling they will leave it up to me to fit it though. And the other thing is, how do I make sure that they have been aligned properly? I mean, does proper aligning not take place after the wheels are on the car?

I might consider them though, at the moment I have 18'' tyres, these are 19''

OK. I have been in a tire outlet ('national tires') and offered me 4 Michelin Diam tires for £950 including installation and alignment. Are they better than the Good year wranglers (they had the wranglers too, but 'only' £950). I was also offered the Continental cross contach UHP for £750.

Or should I just go for the Good year Wranglers for £740 from the dealership?

Please enlighten me...

speaking to Kwikfit, they say you shouldn't mix brands

A KWIK look online
2 x 235/55/19 105V conti's UHP for £180 each £382.00 fitted (i can find cheaper £356.74)

or 2 x 235/55/19 105V Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asymmetrico for £161.25 each £344.50 fitted
or 4 x 235/55/19 105V Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asymmetrico for £161.25 each £689.00 fitted

or 4 x triple spoke alloys with Contis UHP for £645 and then cost of swapping tyres to my wheels (£??)

So my questions to be advised on are Very Happy
what are a set of 4 triple spokes worth (alloys only no centre caps) Question
what are 3 conti's UHP with approx 5mm tread worth Question
