How do I get a avatar from my gallery ?

Hi all, please excuse my stupudity but would somebody please tell me how to get a picture from my gallery as my avatar.

I feel left out having no picture so please help me.

Search google for a avartar tool

resize it to required errr..... Size

upload it from your computer directly via your profile

do you have a picture you wish to use?

I could pm you my email and I'll resize and email you it back

if you then click the image, save as, select name location, go to your profile on here and at the bottom of it you'll see, add avatar, browse to the local you have saved it, select it and upload it
