Please help, New to the forum. I have always replaced the pads on my old freelander 04 without difficulty BUT the new LR2 (57 reg) appear different. Is the fixing bolt that allows the calliper to flip up an allen key arrangement with a plastic cap on the end? If it is what is the size and is it a special tool to remove it. Any other assistance much appreciated.KB KB

Pretty sure is is an allen key, with a plastic cover over it.

I did mine, and I haven't got an extensive tool set, although I have got star bits for my socket socket set, but I don't recall using these, and just recall using allen keys, but having to get at it.

Didn't take too long for both side, biggest problem was that a standard trolley jack didn't even move the car, so had to use the spare tyre jack to lift the car, which took a while.

Trust me, if I can do it, then anyone can.

Thanks BUT everyone seems very vague about this subject. Does anyone know for CERTAIN if it is an allen Key or a special tool with more leverage And does anyone know for certain exactly which bolt is undone first to flip the caliper. KB

i did mine and it was a 7 mm allen key
