2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

Hi,

RE: Side Door Protectors.

Best quote from Land Rover Garage £110 + £40 fitting + VAT

I am tempted to fit these myself as I understand they come with double sided tape already applied and it is possibly just a question of lining up. Not sure wht to do. Can't be that difficult but don't want to make a hash of it.

Whats the general concensus. DIY or Garage?

Many thanks,

AndrewPRD

Easy DIY fit instructions are good just take your time a piece of urine to fit. One thing you will could get yourself apart from a tape measure is one of those Dry Marker Pens it will make it easier. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Thanks,

I will give it a go. Seen several FL2 with them fitted and they look OK. Personal preference though.
I did notice some of the more expensive Land Rover models at dealers yesterday and I think they are fitted as standard.

Regards,

AndrewPRD

Fitted them to mine myself as well. Straightforward and well worth it for a bit protection.

Perhaps it better if you didn't Rolling Eyes They don't fit in the door crease they cover up the crease but the crease is of know use to line them up. You need measure up from the bottom of the doors and mark on the door where they need to be fitted hence a Dry Marker Pen Rolling Eyes p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

The Door Strips

Question:
I understand (rightly or wrongly) that these are supplied in standard black rubber; therefore can they be painted [body colour coded] to achieve a durable & professional match Question

Has anyone on here done this Question

You would have to use a flexible paint and primer,

but a knock from a car door may lead to cracking of the paint, water ingress etc

IMO it would be more trouble than it's worth Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

When fitting these clean the paint with a solvent that evaporates. like brake solvent and warm the double sided tape with a hair dryer of hot air gun. This way the dont ever start to peel off. Remember to leave room for the doors opening when you stick them on.

I appreciate your input npinks. So that's the door strips off her Ladyship's shopping list - jolly good.
