Wading Depth

Our local ford was bit flooded, I know my FL2 has a wading depth of 500mm but, looking at the Vauxhall in the distance I was going to need a boat. ______________________

Have some respect for your car, you Vandal.

Reverse was a appropriate action to take, I am not into senseless destruction like the Vandals. Like my car to much. Surprised ______________________

Good! glad to hear it. plenty on the disco forum that kill cars for fun. Too much money and not enough common sense.

Not worth the risk unless you have prior knowledge of the depth by either watching others or wading with a stick to gauge depth

and if fast flowing don't risk it, unlike the unfortunate lady in N.Yorks who died the other day. (I hope her family are coping and my thoughts are with them) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Just heard that on the Radio, it is not worth the risk for a few extra miles. Again thoughts with bereaved family and friends. ______________________

Was on the news again tonight, they say it was a Freelander she was driving.

Thoughts go out to her family but common sense should prevail in these conditions. ______________________

It was a Freelander, I'm reminded of what the instructor said on my LRE day. its not downing engine that's a problem with the FL2, more often its buoyancy. The pics on TV suggest her car floated away and got stuck under a bridge, at which point the windscreen gave way. Condolences to her family and salutary lesson for the rest of us.
