Newbie with HST

Hey Guys,

New to the site as i just bought a Freelander 2 HST in Martinique Blue last week. Absolutly love the car already as i traded from a mk2 Seat Leon.

Been getting slagged at work already as im 22 with no children and its seen as a big family car.

Hope to learn more about it and get to know you guys better
(once i figure out how to post up pics i will get them up to show her off) 2009 58 Freelander 2 HST in Martinique Blue

Hi and welcome - excellent choice of colour btw.

A "family car" that goes just about anywhere in any condition can't be bad - even if you are only 22. Cool See if your work mates make it throught the snow and floods without problems. They are great cars to drive and a lot of fun. 2009 XS Manual in Martinique Blue with XS Style Pack, Privacy Glass, 19" Alloys, Private Plates, Wood Company centre armrest, stainless steel sill protectors.

Hi SS3, firstly welcome.
Photo album - Go to the main page and open the 'site announcements and feedback' section and in there you will see a section 'creating photo albums and uploading'. If you want to put a picture of the car in with your post the picture has to come from your gallery.
(Select the picture from your gallery you want to insert, then copy the URL link below the picture, create a new topic or click reply to your 'newbie with HST' and paste the URL link. Thumbs Up

Nice car by the sounds of it Thumbs Up

They can go just about anywhere but been a HST you'll be limited slightly by the approach and departure angles

Also if it's your 1st 4x4 they are good in snow too, but remember they still only stop like any other car Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Make a mental note of anyone who gives you stick and be sure not to rescue them when they get stranded. Wink
Enjoy your fantastic new car.

cheers guys, heres the pics

Note: They were taking by the dealer and i havent been able to get any of my own pictures due to the weather

I was proud yesterday as i got stopped on a hill full of snow as a van and a few cars had got stuck and i just drove on up past them without any wheelspin or anything where normally i would join them in slidding back down again haha 2009 58 Freelander 2 HST in Martinique Blue

OK I accept that my approach may have been a little heavy handed but I am now firmly of the belief that we car.. sorry trailer owners have to establish ourselves.
I have decided thefore not to be my subtle old self in future but to be direct, fearless and robust.
Got to go SWMBO is coming Ralph

Yes all is well with that except for the last line....
I think you need to put your foot down a bit more - like I said to my wife the other day ''I'm the boss in this house and don't you forget it, anymore of your 'lip and you'll be doing this ironing yourself'' Rolling with laughter

I was contributing on the Seat forum with SS3 when somone else was saying about a Freely...shame they don't know what they're missing! I had to play safe and use the FL2 on Sunday when it snowed and couldn't get the Leon off the drive! Crying or Very sad Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Hey guys thanks for the replies.

Ralph-I dont have a caravan

Dave what is your forum name on seatcupra?

I have to admit altough i loved my Leon as it was really nice looking as it had the BTCC bodykit im really taking to the Freelander now, i have a lot of long journeys coming up-Centreparks next week and then to Glasgow every month until August so it will soak up the miles alot better, i drove to Wales to pick it up and after the drive down in the Leon i was aching all over but the drive back i felt as refreshed as when i started.

Learned a few novice lessons already for a 4x4:
It cant corner as well as my Leon which had sports suspension etc
You have to brake earlier as there more weight to stop
It still slids in snow if you take a corner a little too fast 2009 58 Freelander 2 HST in Martinique Blue
