Silver becomes Black next Monday

Zermat Silver 08 GS auto 2years old next week, good offer from dealer so will be Santorini 10 GS Auto on Monday.

26,000 miles, Heater Recall, drivers seat dropping and vibration/rattle from interior mirror. No mechanical faults.
Lots of off road miles at rounds of Scottish Rally Championship running an hour ahead of event.
No hesitation on buying same again, did not even look at any opposition. Only one even close might have been New Forrester but NO diesel auto available and petrol auto?? cheaper with a RR V8 petrol!!! All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

must admit we were very impressed with the Forester boxer diesel, but we were after a manual.

also very impressed with the dealer in Prestwick who seemed to know their stuff.

Nothing wrong with Silver, each to their own, although isn't Black difficult to keep clean?

After 60 miles through forrests, wet and muddy you don't know what colour it is anyway. If nice dry day?? good scottish stoor (dust) makes all look like stornoway.
Just going out to change my ebay SE wheels back to original GS ones. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone

Why would you trade in an 08 for a 10 with the same spec & so few miles on the clock? 50-60k on the clock...fair do's but 26k & 1year on the warranty? Just wondered.....

I am guessing nothing just that he is trading in with original wheels so he can put the SE wheels on the new motor Thumbs Up

Here's an idea take out the spare wheel as well and then you can put that in the new motor and store the shaving foam away for trade in on the next one! Whistle

Christian138,
Yes keeping SE wheels 5-6mm, Original GS 3mm. Have 2 reasons to change, had bus pass for 8 years (that tells my age) and prefer to update regularly to keep £ gap as low as possible. All depends on what is offered and this time it suited me.
For many years had a new Sierra-Mondeo every 11-13 months 30,000mls, same dealer, system worked well for me. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Fair do's. I had a Ford Focus for 6 years, bought for £11k, sold for £3k...so about £1300 depreciation a year, pretty sure I'd have spent 10x that replacing it every 12 months... Big Cry Suppose it depends on your mileage, I tend to do <10k a year. Thumbs Up

Sorry Druand, Your reasoning is far to logical and simple for my complicated mind. I will try and not ask you any more stupid questions Ralph
