They (Mantec) are both easy to fit.
The sump guard doesn't actually cover he sump - honest. It does offer good frontal protection, and deflects soil, stone etc. away from the original sump protector, while still allowing the service guys free access. Can't remember having to remove any substantial pieces to fit it - unlike the FL1.

The tank guard is a must, the tank (both sides) hang lower than anything else, that banging sound off road is probably something hard hitting your PLASTIC fuel tank. I drilled a couple of holes to fit the tank guard before I realised they wern't strictly nessesary.

The LR guy was taking the proverbial, the G4 FL2 were fitted with Mantec guards by Land Rover before they left the factory. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

My experience is no, does not really matter what you drill or bolt, the dealers dont really care Shocked .

They might if the affected part was the bit that had been drilled but they just claim the work off LR - so the more they do, the more they get paid, the more money the principle makes!

For instance my car went in with metal compressor cover, sump guard, rock sliders and another secret mod under deveoplment for a had brake claim - never once did they ask if I went off road and that what would have caused it!!!!

Quite interested in this protection interest on the FL2 though Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Type in

3-FLR-TG/07

into Google

It will come up with sites from Mantec, Devon 4x4, flatdoguk. All with better prices than fleabay, eg £321+vat.

Went to Eastnor the other wekend, it saved the tank, but took a couple of hours digging 7kg of mud out of both guards Very Happy
The Discos were trapping 3" dia branches inbetween their wishbones and suspension - didn't stop them.
A 110 had its fuel line severed, that stopped it. Big Cry

Both FL2 made it to the end Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

If anyone wants a Mantec front "sump" guard I have an ex-LR Experience one that is slightly dented and bent, but still offers protection, along with fitting bolts; please PM for details. Previous owner of;

Mantec sump. Fitting

Any tips getting the mantec guard fitted.

I have one, had a look under my car.

Started removing some plastic at the front - grey piece held on with black1/4 turn screws clips. That was the easy bit
Now how do I get of the other plastic bit that is attached somehow to the underside of the bumper.
I have no urg tu pull n see. Would prefer the experienced scientific approach.

Cannot find instructions online anywhere, still waiting to hear from mantec.

leave the 1\4 turn screws where they are, leave the grey plastic bit in place.

The front guard has 4 x 10mm bolts - really easy
with the front of the car on ramps, lie down, put the guard on your chest and slide under the car feet first.
Offer up the guard, the 4 bolts you have to remove will be obvious, poke a screwdriver through the new guard to mark the bolts. dump guard on floor remove existing bolts and fit new guard using the new bolts provided - longest ones go to the front.

take a look, for how far forward it fits. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
