I thought those treads looked a bit wintery!
Well maybe in those situations in the UK the All Weather tyre type may be the best to use considering that you don’t have those snow and minus degree temperatures all and every winter. However All Weather tyres will not be the best for summer motorway driving.

As most here have two sets of boots the AW tyres are not so popular any longer, mainly because they have been slated by the motoring organisations. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Hi Andy c,well i dont know what it would be like with different tyres on but ive driven up the motorway a few time for about 400 miles a time and the journey went well, very smooth and quite though i did notice the mpg drop off at speed but apart from that no problems

We went up past haytor, over towards bonehill, stopped for a walk, then went back towards haytor again and round those areas, stopping to push a mondeo up a hill, took some photos of the views and went home again!!! I know better than to go places i will get stuck. I appear to be addicted to Landrovers...

As I spend a lot of time travelling in Scandinavia I'm sold on the need for Winter tyres. Over the past couple of years my Freel2 SE TD4 has been ok on snow & ice but like any other car on summer tyres it's been edgy especially when braking. A month ago I asked my tyre specialist to order some Vredestein Wintrack 4 Extreme tyres and I had them fitted. There was much mickey taking whilst having them fitted but I'm so glad I did. The difference is tremendous. The steep hill outside my house was impassable for all cars including a number of 4x4's (especially a couple of RR Sports). My car, reverse out, snow mode, traction control off, off we go, without a hint of wheelspin accelerating up the hill. Great for powersliding too as the sipes in the front tyres bite onto the ice on opposite lock making drifting really controllable and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
