It seems the Freelander 2 Sport is the rumored "facelift" for model year 2010. No actual updates there, which gives us additional time to speculate when the REAL facelift will be and how it will look like.

lr2maker may know more, but my money goes on first introducing the LRX as a 2011 model and the following year upgrading LR2 headlights and brakes to LEDs, plus changes to interior a'la Disco, RRS, FFRR. The sport le is not the facelift believe me. Expect it late 2011 with launch of lrx. Expect boxy look aka rr, disco 4. Totally new fl3 in 2013-14 badged ventura or tatapimpmobile. Lots of legs left in fl2. New colours soon. Fuji white, sahara sand, amazon green, etna black. Live your life be free-lander

Thanks lr2maker!... Boxy Look and lots of legs? That's a bit contradictory or should I assume the boxy look comes through add-ons rather than actual new body. Also, it still seen to me like cannibalising if the LR2 facelift comes at or before LRX launch. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE i6

I have just returned from a visit to the Stealer as I have an intermittant cutting out problem, it cuts out whilst travelling along just as though someone has turned the key off then on again, as you would expect unable to get it looked at until next Thursday.
Anyway whilst there they had a Frelander Sport in the showroom, very nice wheels and a vey nice shade of Grey, a bit darker than Stornoway but looks to have a deeper feel to it, could be tempted when the time comes. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Can someone put my mind at rest that LR will definitely not facelift within next 12 months just referring back to a post on 8th Jan it was suggested a facelift was due in March in Norway... and o guess uk would shortly follow if that was the case

It’s difficult to tell if that Norway info was correct - but that’s what it said on the chart of new 2010 models for this country.

A facelift model has been talked about/speculated on the forum for a while now, so anything is possible. The Sport model that has just been released is nothing really new, just some new wheels and seating and optionally some old plastic panels. However this model has NOT been announced in Norway and it seems only available for the UK market. It often happens that a tarted up version is released to get rid of some “old stuff” before release of a new model - so who knows  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
