SatNav showing dots

Happy New Year Everyone Thumbs Up

Something has changed on the SatNav. Dots have appeared on outbound routes Shocked

It seems that the dots are tracking us and being placed on the route about every 200 metres. SWMBO seems to think that it doesn't happen on route home.

Have read manual but gives no clue or I missed it.

Don't have any snow here so could it be Swine Flu? 09 HSE Auto Lago Grey/Almond Napoli. Privacy glass.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Baltic Blue

I suspect path trace as been activated. Go to settings and because I have never read the manual, randomly press buttons until you find route trace or whatever its called. When turning off, accept message to delete routes or those blasted dots stay for ever. All that could be complete rollocks because I may have confused Emily with my hand held GPS. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

You have your sat nave set to leave a trail so you can follow it back - there is a setting in there somewhere to turn it off or increase / decrease the frequency that it leaves these "dots"

Thanks. I'm sure you're both right but I'm still looking for the buttons/instructions.

Still Idea I might leave it on as we haven't got many roads round here Whistle 09 HSE Auto Lago Grey/Almond Napoli. Privacy glass.

Do you guys still drive with the horn pressed all the time Laughing Spent sometime working near Verona and Riva del garda (Arco and Rovereto)...pressing the horn all the time seemed to be normal Laughing
What about setting your sat nav to automatically beep your car horn every 3 seconds....that would be useful for you Thumbs Up

The dots don`t stay forever - they seem to clear after the first stop after about 100 miles. Otherwise you`d end up with a screen FULL of dots.
Can`t remember the menu it`s under but is called "Route Trace" and the button is in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

Ok, found Route Trace in the manual (P34) although no instruction as to how to toggle.
