How to get to see the FL2

Unfortunately I can't get down to the London Motor Show to see the FL2. Having said that even if I could I was wondering how close you could get to it? Sometimes the vehicles are cordened off behind a rope & all you can do is peer from a distance, not ideal!

To this end I spoke to a local dealer as to when they should have one for joe public to examine. He said that LR are trying to ramp up production to enable each dealer in the UK to have two FL2's in their showrooms for the UK launch on Dec 7th!!
That's a long wait!!

Any one have any ideas about seeing one before that?

I suppose I could always park up at Eastnor & see what comes past Wink

Re: How to get to see the FL2

If you are going to see one in the flesh in a dealers showroom in December I think you are very lucky. I doubt that they will arrive in Australia until late Feb 2007 at the earliest.
If there are aren't any available to look at there won't be any available to buy either so think of it as Land Rovers way of allowing you to keep some money in your pocket a bit longer.

Hang out in Cleobury... they drive these and the new TDV8 RR through town on a regular basis... on route test driving.

Used to see loads of taped up D3's too.

Apparently the roads round here are quite fun to test drive on Smile

I'm sure the bigger country/agricultural shows will have them, the D3 which was launched in November was being shown this way by late June early July

Test Drive in New Freelander
Well I took it for a blast down some country lanes and back along the motorway and it performed faultlessly. The ride was very firm almost sporty. A 2.7 diesel is on the cards for new year. Apparently, they are also thinking of doing a 7 seater (slightly extended length).

The seats are very comfortable and look very like the ones in a Mondeo Ghia X but with 3 person memory and arm rests.

If you're near Halewood over the weekend come for a look (and maybe a ride) - phone number deleted

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

When the Disco3 was still a baby and not available to Jo Public, I overtook one driving down Via Gellia in Derbyshire, it was dark green with black A3 size plastic bits on it. But it was being driven by what looked like an old farmer and had a big twin axle Ifor Willaims on the back! Wink

Cheers H

D3 was given to selected people for a 6 month period before it hit the GP, unfortunately the dealers had no control over who they were and most were not previous LR owners.
