boot unlocking

Recently ive noticed that my boot wont open when i double click the unlock button on the remote. It used to but now will only unlock when you press the boot open button on the remote. can i be reprogramed without going back to the dealers?

Sounds strange, the boot button should open the boot, not just unlock it.

To unlock the boot, the open button should be used, I'd visit a dealer and ask, last thing you want is for it to fail the other way, and leave your boot unlocked at some point.

Do you mean the boot will not unlock when you double click?
The double press on the fob will only unlock the doors and boot it should not open it?

Can you unlock the boot on double click then open the boot with the handle? If you can only open the boot by the open boot button it will as the highly rated CG says it will be water ingress in the handle. I replaced mine a few months back for under a £10 p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Yep, boot handle as CG said. If you change it yourself it will have water in it and all corroded. Will be warranty but if your local stealer is like mine book it in for a day, diagnose what you already know, get the part then lose your pride and joy for another day whilst they fit it, will take half hour or so to do it yourself. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Hello, first post from me.

I have this problem also, can anyone tell me how to remove the switch/handle so that I can either try to dry it out or replace it .

I believe you have to remove the inner boot trim to acess the nuts holding the boot handle on to the release the handle giving acess to the seich that will need replacing

however you could look to see if it could be acessed via the number plate lights holes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I've just had mine replaced under warranty as it froze up last week and wouldn't open due to water ingress. They had the car for about 3hrs, returned it washed as well. Very Happy

it should open it. Without unlocking the rest of the car.
It's designed for those trips to the shopping mall where you get so laden with Christmas goods that you have to pop back to the car to relieve the burden of Christmas fayre, before continuing to buy more.

Had my latch on the hatch replaced a couple of weeks ago as the hatch wouldn,t close.
The trim on the hatch was removed and there is either two or three screws holding the latch in place and one plug in electrical connection.
LRAssist guy removed it but couldn,t fix it. It looked clean and dry to me.
