Nav System Recommendations

I am looking for an after market nav system for my LR2. I would like one that can allow my iPhone to be used hands free and can be connected to the aux in on the OEM radio. I would prefer a portable unit which I can mount in the space on the dash for the OEM nav unit. My second choice would be a fixed install into the OEM space.
Thanks

Most current nav systems have an FM output so you can simply tune into it.
If you play mp3s from those units, they play at the same time, damping the noice when an nav-instruction is played.

Why plug in if you can go sort of wireless?

I have both a TomTom 930 Traffic and a Garmin Nuvo 765T and they both do the job. I do prefer the TomTom tough.

I also have a built in Kenwood/Garmin system installed which does everything. But i would still use the TomTom if i make a long planned trip like on vacation. The Garmin does a well enough job for day to day use, but the TomTom has so much more features for the computer oriented brain to tweak.

Garmin u have some control but you have to check your settings to know them.
TomTom ask u over and over how to set its nav parameters, but that gives you more control.

In other words, Garmin = "install and go", TomTom = "go excactly the way you want to go".
