2007 Freelander 2 heater blower motor nightmare

blower motor stopped working read the posts on here changed the resistor spiky thing at the back of the dash with 4 wire plug on it nothing so changed the blower motor (dashboard off) worked fine the stopped again had the dash off AGAIN give it a check started working put it all back together working fine came out in the morning turned fan on got about 30 seconds then stopped working AGAIN. so no idea also put a new battery in on the off chance on the plus side getting Quicker at taking the Dash ON and off but not my favourable thing to do in the evenings. Oh also checked all fuses for everything all a OK

also checked the old motor on my old battery was seasoned but belt from the 12v and that's working again

ordered a multi meter and now going to have to check everything

any help or advice would be great as am just winging it down rabbit holes at the moment

Any fault codes Can you read the live data for the resistor and the heating system. Could be a faulty Heating module

It’s really sounding like a loose connection as you’ve had the dash off a few times maybe inside the motor or in a plug connecter ?

Sticking motor brushes?

Would imply that they were worn and that the springs couldn't apply enough force.
Or that the brush holders were corroded and holding the brushes away from the commutator.

Very common on the DS.
Ex-Forklift engineer so had lots and lots of sticking brush gear in my time. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
