DIY thermostat replacement SD4

I'm struggling to find a thread on this forum that describes how to replace the thermostat oneself.. - or is this rather a job for a professional?

Depends on your ability on the tools. It's an easy job. There are You Tube movies. Should you decide to do it I am going to suggest you put a thin smear of silicone sealant on the gasket.

The hardest part is getting the thermostat off the rear coolant rail, as the O ring sticks tight to the thermostat socket.
You need a suitable E Torx to remove the thermostat studs, as the coolant rail prevents it from pulling away from the head enough to clear them, hence the need to remove them. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Thanks everyone, but I think I'm going to rather get a workshop to replace it
