I considered bigger washers but, IMO, the black plastic has gotten brittle and is simply cracking so most likely I'll end up transfering the cracks elsewhere. From what I can "see", it's doubtful that those bolts really do any real "retaining" work but I'll investigate further. I might just cover the top bracket with adhesive a heat shrinkable carbon fiber skin and call that George for now. I was going to hot nail it but I don't think will last any amount of time. Epoxy is another option as I am not trying to buy a replacement bumper ! |

It's all hot stapled now and fully covered in vinyl wrap, you can't see the cracking but mine does have some forward play as I can push the top in about 1/4 inch. |
