Navigation maps upgrade

Is there an easy way to upgrade the maps to a newer version? Do you need Land Rover dealers to do it or will any map update online bought be ok? thanks

Isn't it a DVD drive under the driver's seat in your car?

If you have the later system it is updated with a USB stick - DIY but it is a relatively slow process and VIN specific. You provide your VIN to the supplier who then 'codes' the update to your car.

I find the sat nav not particularly good and tend not to use it, 35 yrs as a truck driver I plan my route and still use maps, old habits die hard. 2013 FL2 XS.

thanks, looking at that, mine must be the later one via usb as there is no dvd player under the seat. Will probably go for that one then I think, thanks!

Rommel, I,m with you. Spent years routing abnormal loads all over the UK. Cabinet full of OS maps. Still check on a map where I go and have OS on my phone. I do use my TomTom mainly as a speedometer and distance information.. carry an up to date road atlas in the car. Use TomTom as LR set up is poor. Jim A

Spent last ten years as a HGV Driving Instructor, could tell straight away if pupils have been using sat navs as they do not read road signs not paying attention just listening to the verbal directions, 2013 FL2 XS.

I updated my 2012 HSE with one of these discs, last week. Works fine.

A lot cheaper here... (this is not a recommendation, I haven't tried it)

I've found the built in "Gen2.1" satnav is pretty rubbish, it comes up with all sorts of weird routes. I use google maps on my phone now. Personally I wouldn't spend £80 to update it.
