Hi everyone,

When i start the Landy, a nice big fat Land Rover sign pops up on the main screen, but it's soon replaced by the Nav/Settings screen. TBH, i'd rather it was something else. The big Land Rover sign, or the clock - anything but the screen that comes up.

Anyway, anyone know how to permanently change this please?

Unfortunately it defaults to the menu screen, which is so annoying. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

So that after a minute or two it would default back to the LR logo Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Can't be done, We are stuck with either the ugly Nav settings or the clock. it's a pity this wasn't sorted when the car first came out.

agree, but you have to bear in mind that the FL2 came out in 2006 which means all the tech on it is from 2003/2004 era in reality, when a basic windows laptop still cost well over £1000 and the internet was still being used as intended.

It would have been a simple matter to put into the firmware an option to have a selection of say three or four screensavers. At the turn of the century I was writing websites the coding is so easy to do and I don't consider myself to be an expert in any way

Car Sat Navs have always lagged behind current technology. My 2009 BMW could only use the first 3 components of a postcode.

You could just turn the screen off I suppose. Jules

I don't know if there's anything in the hidden menus about the default screen settings, I've never been brave enough to look in there.
My Nav locked up on a recent 3 hour journey, which was a pain, so looks like I'll need to run a diagnostic on it at some point.  2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

In my humble opinion, it's only one more click to get the clock, in addition to the many actions to start and drive the car; Leave house, lock door, alarm, open car, sit, seat belts, check mirror, insert key, brake, twist, phone, select gear, power, steer, indicate, mirror, manoeuvre,,etc,etc. I love every element of driving, especially tinkering with the satnav.

I must admit I am in the never touch the buttons camp, clock is only right for 6 months of the year

On a lighter note, in Spain on holiday was getting ready to play golf with three other blokes, all of whom had driven with their families to Kim's Camping. Bert was driving his Audi and I was in the front passenger seat, and after a few minutes the heating fan was getting noisy and blasting out hot air when it was already 25c outside. I said "crikey Bert, you've got the heating on, how do we turn that off and put on the A/C?" To which he replied, "Oh I dunno, she does all that" !!
