Just throwing this out to see if anyone has had similar experiences. I blew the fusible link on the positive terminal and baulking at the price of replacing it with a genuine LR one which means replacing the entire cable to the starter motor put a 150amp fuse on it as that was what I read was the capacity of the original part. That fuse recently blew so I upgraded to 200 amp. The noticeable difference, it cranks and starts in cold weather so much better than ever before. I had put in the additional earth cable to the starter motor bolt some time ago and that had made some difference in winter but I’m wondering if the slow crank problem people experience in winter time could be related to LR putting a 150 amp fuse on the cable which is restricting current to the starter?
