United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Loire Blue
Heated Windscreen Retrofit (on 2014 XS model)

Hi All,

I recently changed from my 2008 HSE to a newer 2014 XS. But Im missing having a heated front windscreen.

It also turns out my 2014 XS DOES have the heated screen itself, its simply not connected to anything.

I have a JLR VCI interface and SDD, so have been intending to enable it in there, which i hope is straightforward to find and would welcome any advice from those who have donw so already?

I also have the new climate panel to suit my 2014 model.

Lastly, it looks like the connections arent there in my fusebox, for the fuses or relays... although one pin is which i hope is the signal from the CJB to the relay. So, i will shortly be checking this and if so, can replicate things. I have also bought a fuse box from a model that is fitted with the heated windscreen so i can use this for my missing pins and then it should be as simple as the four wires going from fusebox to the heated screen.

All tips, advice and opinions welcomed... or tell me that im daft and i should just buy an external timed circuit and ignore all the canbus / LIN carry on 🤣
