Reduced performance warning

How's about this for unlucky, yesterday my wife's Evoque came up with a reduced performance warning, a restart cleared it.
today my fl2 has come up with the same warning and it doesn't clear, it has also shown the orange engine symbol, and the centre part of the dash alternates between dim and bright??
It's battery is only three months old, so I don't think that.
any suggestions
Also suggestions on a code reader?
Thanks in advance
Nick

I have a really cheap (£12 ebay) obd2 reader which was able to confirm fault code and more importantly reset the warning on mine, after fixing (split intercooler hose). Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Nearly 100% sure it will be split hose.

Any legit ELM237 blue-tooth OBDII and Torque Pro can get you rolling for the most part. BAFX is a good brand if it's not a knockoff. Cheap setup but not LR specific. I use this setup daily with one of these 16 Pin M to F with Switch OBD2 Cord Extension Cable Adapter Connector On/Off. If you want one more specific to the LR, there a a few thread on the forum with many options. I have an Icarsoft reader as well but not all the advertised features for the LR2 work for it. Lots of Foxwell users on the forum as well.

Just taken mine for a trip round the block, no warning but yep plenty of boost woosh coming from front left so im guessing you are all right with split boost hose
you can guess the next two questions
easy job and where to buy hose??

thank you all btw

If its the top hose onto the intake manifold it's easy got at. If it's a lower one at the intercooler slightly more awkward, I couldn't get at the hose clips no matter how I tried. Ended up taking the front bumper off! Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
