Strange noise when parked

My first post!

Can anyone identify this noise? It comes from the rear of the car, underneath. Only when parked. It repeats about every 5 seconds whether the car is locked or not...

Many thanks!

Mine does that - I think its the pump in the tank which takes fuel from both sides of the saddle tank to maintain level of fuel in a reservoir for the lift pump on the engine to suck from.

I also have a high pitched whine which can sometimes go on for 20 mins after turning the engine off - its the throttle body motor. Its done it from day one. Jules

Any other takes on this? Interestingly I just had the tyres rotated and all the time it was on the ramp, NOT A SINGLE NOISE! But when I got home, it's back...

Mine does that also - does yours have the electric parking brake?

I think it is the EPB that makes a similar noise on mine, and you can hear it adjusting as the discs and pads cool a few times after applying it - or could be the pump in the tank as Jules suggests which is a possibility that hadn't occurred to me 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

No EPB. Good old fashioned brake lever. I think it must be the tank pump. Strange that it didn't do it for the 45 minutes it was on the ramp. I was hoping to find it definitively!

I wonder would you be able to pinpoint it better, at least if it is the fuel tank, by opening the right hand passenger door lift the rear seat and take out the large grommet over the fuel tank pump
