Power Steering loss @ idle speed TD4 Diesel 2.2l

Dear Folks

After being abroad and the car not used for several months, I face now sudden loss of steering power when turning the wheel at idle speed, i.e. during parking.
As soon as the engine is revolving slightly higher than idle, all is well again.
Fluid level is okay, no weird noise from the steering system.
Unfortunately there's no workshop with vacant slots and I need to travel a rather long way in two days.
Wouldn't like anything deteriorating in such way that I won't reach the destination.

Does anyone of you have experience with such kind of fault syndroms?
Wonder if its the Hitachi power steering pump, the valve unit or whatever?

Thanks in advance & brgds

Well, after scavenging a bit through former posts, I will see to exchange the fluid reservoir as it looks like the filter might be blocked.
What a pity that it's not possible to detach this tiny bastard from the reservoir for plug and play exchange.

Whatsoever, in case if anyone with "the larger pic" has some experience whether these clogged filters are always an indication of internal parts "going down Jordan" or if also normal wear and tear might lead to such issues, it would be nice to read.

New Reservoir with a complete fluid change would be my first action on solving this problem. You can do an easy reservoir and fluid change method using both the old and new reservoirs.
