Terrain response

Hi all, a question on the above......
Can alter the tr at any speed or do you have to stop and then alter the settings?

Can be changed when moving and no need to stop to change.

last month I was going down this country road in Northumberland admiring a Vauxhall Corsa that had managed to end up mangled in the middle of a sheep field . . . .and then I felt it, all 4 wheels lost traction, so glad I had slowed down, but the old freelander 2 for a few seconds was gliding across a very frosty road.

Sadly, I realised I was going the wrong way so had to turn round and go back the way I came, it was at this point I wondered myself about the terrain response . . . I fiddled with it to get the snow setting, but in reality in conditions like that nothing can grip the road. 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

Thanks, just didn’t want to damage it.
When I select a mode other than road,
do you need to switch the dsc off or does
the car do it for you?

Different Terrain Response modes adjust the sensitivity of DSC and on road I'd generally leave it on as it can help maintain directional stability by reacting to oversteer/understeer. If DSC activity is impacting my ability to climb a particularly slippery hill then I'd turn it off and back on once I'd overcome the obstacle.

When my son was working as an agronomist in the UK he used to drive his FL2s across farms and motorways on a daily basis he found that if you just left it alone and turn off DSC it would generally sort itself out. He then moved to an L200 with just diff lock and lo range and found that it was just as good as the FL2 on the same tracks. He now drives a Hilux pickup in Kenya on similar terrain and finds that most of the time he just keeps it in rear wheel drive and if you have big chunky Goodrich tyres you can go anywhere. Well almost anywhere. Looks like he took this corner a bit too fast. Laughing
