Pretty sure it will be slave cylinder.. had mine done at about 51000 miles, but it was just sticking and didn’t return all the way, but didn’t stay on the floor.

Hi,
think you may need to prepare yourself for a complete new clutch then Question

if your paying for the labour to remove the box ect (£500) then may well be worth putting a new clutch, plate and release bearing in at the same time (circa £200) and hopefully the dual mass will be fine or another (£200ish)

does all depend what has been done in the past Question has it already had a clutch replaced

good luck Thumbs Up

My wholle clutch replacement was about £1300 at an Indy. I had previously had my master cylinder replaced at another indie for about £400. To top it all off , I then needed a new pedal at about £300 since the pedal was twisted and catching. A complete clutch nightmare ! Makes you think about an auto !!

I am surprised the clutch pedal is metal and able to twist, a lot have been made (various manufacturers including Ford) from plastic for a very long time now. Regards

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

I have the old one at home and I can see where it catches. Maybe twisted is too strong a word, but it was definitely catching and I had to hook it back up with my foot for the last inch or so now and again. This was even after all the other clutch bits were replace- hence i got a new pedal fitted. Even the new one is creaking a bit !

The creaking newish pedal is really annoying though. Fitted in January. It’s a plasticky type creak that is creakier the slower you release the pedal. . I’ll just turn the radio up 😀

You could try “puffing” some dry lubricant onto the joint area, needs a graphite powder used mainly in locks. Regards

I did try putting some silicone grease on some of the bits I could get to, but managed to knock the eco stop start switch out. My local Indy kindly fitted the switch back in for me the next day. Don’t really want to touch it again ...and I’ve got no dry lube
Thanks for suggestion

Just a thought I had once an annoying squeak/creak on a clutch pedal.......eventually tracked it down to a certain pair of shoes, the soles would react with a squeak on the rubber clutch pedal pad material Shocked Regards

Mmmm. It’s more a ‘deep down’ creak. More noticeable in hotter weather so guess it’s the plastic of the pedal minutely expanding. It’s just annoying that’s all....after spending so much on the whole clutch assembly. Ho hum. I guess there’s more important things to worry about 😬😬
