As above.

They are trying to time you out of both the 30 day exchange policy, as well as your right to automatically reject within 30 days under consumer law.

If and when they return the vehicle, I would be accepting it back less a substantial discount. Essentially you paid March money for it, and we are now in April/May/June, (delete as applicable), and as such, the vehicle is no longer worth what you initially paid for it as it has depreciated whilst not in your custody.

Put that to them in writing forcing a written acknowledgement or response, as you will need to rely on written communication should you need to walk away from it in the near future.

Thanks for the advice

That’s what I was wondering about but the sales manager did assure me the 30day exchange period would start again from when it got returned.
Not sure about the depreciation at this stage it’s only been 2 weeks just strange that there’s been zero contact.
Definitely need an email me thinks for the paper trail

I have just noticed this post. I don't visit the general forum much anymore as I tend to lurk in off topic! I studied consumer law as part of my degree and their 30 day policy is basically available to you in law anyway. Regardless of whether or not you can prove the manager's promise, the law states that the 30 day clock stops ticking from the moment you request a repair and only resumes ticking when it is back with you with all problems rectified.

Please note however: A consumer who requires or agrees to the repair of goods cannot require the trader to replace them, or exercise the short-term right to reject, without giving the trader a reasonable time to repair them (unless giving the trader that time would cause significant inconvenience to the consumer). LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I bought mine unseen from Charles Hurst Belfast.
They did make a video though.
Condition as described......oct 2014 metropolis with very low miles
Best money I ever spent.
Delivered by them to Cheshire.

Cannot speak too highly of Charles Hurst Belfast

Mowog.

Charles Hurst is my local dealer and where I bought as well. I found them to be excellent. They have a huge site with franchises for everything from Bentleys and Lambos to Citroens and Seat. The salesman Ross was a star. Only one problem so far which was quickly sorted.

Just my opinion. Others will think differently.

They get some really nice cars and a lot of return customers. The service there is good but then the prices are at a premium. It’s about 20 miles from me. I have no experience of Donnelly but know of them. Hursts are much longer established.

On another note the amount of FL2s on the road here is incredible. Most seem to be from the mainland with the corresponding plates or re-registered with new local plates. Mostly black too. Metropolis models are a bit of a rarity on these shores. In fact can’t say I’ve ever seen one.

Bought mine used from Hursts as well, all good but you do pay too dollar. They have multiple franchises, the biggest car dealer in northern Ireland. Their service is sometimes not up to scratch but I cant fault the landrover side of the dealership so far. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Bob, what about the number of FL2 on the road here. Have you noticed an increase?

Mine is a red Metropolis.
Factory tow bar, spoiler, privacy glass, full size spare wheel.mud flaps, rubber mats etc
I was more than happy to pay 24,750 in April 2018.
I had to MOT it as it was 3yrs and 3 months old, but no provision in N.I. To get the mot done before 4 yrs.
I also put English reg mark on it.

That’s right. First MOT here at 4 yrs old and done at a Driver and Vehicle Agency testing centre, government run. £30.50. Testers don’t doo any work on the vehicle but may let very minor faults slip past. It’s a good system.

There are plenty about still for sure, probably lots holding onto a decent Fl2 rather than 'upgrade' to a DS. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
