It’s just chrome being anal. (Some other browsers do it as well more will)

It now does it on all sites that are not https site. 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

It's been this way for a while; a quick read of https://www.digicert.com/blog/not-secure-warning-what-to-do/ should explain what's going on fairly simply.

In terms of fixing it, it takes all of 5 minutes to setup https://letsencrypt.org/ (a trusted free SSL provider) with scheduled auto-renewal, so there's no excuses for the site to still be running under HTTP. Even the parent company of Freel2.com (Futuranet Ltd) has a Let's Encrypt certificate - although their site (https://fnltd.co.uk/) isn't setup correctly as while it runs over HTTPS it still makes a request to a HTTP object.

That's interesting, I run a few websites for local people and the hosting service I use has recently started trying to sell me digicerts . I didn't realise that you could get free ones. Very Happy 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Its not just a Chrome thing. Bitdefender picks up that the site is asking for you password as free text so anyone can intercept it.
That's OK for a site like this providing you don't mind anybody potentially getting your password and logging on as you AND you don't use the Freel2 password (or a derivative) of it anywhere else.
The risk is probably low and you can minimise it. But it is not good practice!

Yeah google decided everything had to be https everyone is following.

Seriously... it’s not going to make a blind bit of difference Smile

In an ideal world the man will put a ssl cert up but if not, it doesn’t worry me.

(all websites you should use different passwords, so don’t matter much if one small site with no financial data gets hacked) BIG IF.

Just chill. 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

Better late than never? Embarassed

The site now has an https certificate installed, enabled AND the site code updated.

It wasn't quite as simple as just getting the certificate due to the number of embedded resources and links which would still have brought in http content.

But anyway, all done now Smile

Urgh, happens to my sites all the time. A simple re-issue of the cert should be fine. Feel for you, Martin - it's a pain! Thumbs Up 2013 SE TD4 in Mauritius Blue [Written off]
