United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Santorini Black
AW-1 Transmission Fluid

Hi

Does anyone have a definitive answer as to the JWS spec of AW-1. I have a 2014 Freelander 2 and I am looking to do a atf change. I have been in contact with Aisin and LR Customer Services and they both say it's JWS3309 (see below) but I am not sure so I throw it open to you fine knowledgeable folk for clarification why different part numbers.

Thank you for your email!

We have two ATF products and the one recommended for your specific vehicle is our:

AISIN Premium ATF 6

Which has been developed specifically for 5 and 6 speed auto transmissions. It’s a Aisin Warner JWS AW-1 which is what you require and also meets JWS 3309 and 3317. The JWS 3324 is for auto transmissions with 7 speeds or more which is not fitted to your vehicle.

I do hope this helps!

Best regards
Dominick

Good Morning AJ918

After speaking with our technical team they have confirmed that JWS3309 is the correct AFT JWS specification as stated in the response from Aisin Warner.

Any help appricated.

The only difference between the oils is the pre-SD4 oil is semi synthetic, the later SD4 oil is fully synthetic Thumbs Up
