LR2 code

Hi, I have a 2008 LR2, 3.2L. It started loosing power, then cut out and would not start hot. I have an active P0076, Intake valve control- circuit low bank one. I think its the front solenoid for the cam profiling, but can not seem to find any troubleshooting on this code. Anybody had this issue?

Thats just a generic, anything after 1997 with VVT info. I seem to believe its not the variable intake timing, but the cam profile switching solenoids, of which I think there are 2.

Full disclosure I own two 3.2’s

2008 Land Rover LR2

2010 Volvo S80

Same engine in both

Most Freel2 members are Diesel powered

With that in mind I have the following recommendation

1. Search the Volvo boards

2. The thermostats are known to fail

3. The fuel pressure sensor on rail are also know to fail

4. The oil housing has a anti drain valve that failed on both of my 3.2’s

If the anti drain valve fails then the oil pressure may drop and the variable valve timing and variable valve lift needs oil pressure

I’ve posted about all of the above items here on Freel2

Good luck

Paul
