id never have noticed Whistle

agreed though, they are more of styling item than a useful protection for the lights (unless a brick gets thrown at them, hopefully that wont make it through the slats Confused )

I once fitted a set of clear plastic covers on the lights of an old Vectra I used to have, cost about £30 from Vauxhall and were clipped over the back of the lights so once the bonnet was closed they couldn't be removed without breaking them. They would be a much better option on modern cars given the cost of replacement lights.

Re light guards, its all very well expressing ones personal opinion.
But personal opinions are just that 'personal' and not to be enforced upon others.

For me, I like light guards and have had them fitted to my D3, D4 and now FL2.
To me, it makes the vehicle a bit more individual to that of other FL2s

As to them having absolutely no use, I disagree.
You'll see in the clip below that I accidentally (& sadly) hit a buzzard taking off from the verge.
This broke the mounts on my light guards (which were subsequently repaired by rebonding), but had the light guards not been there it would've certainly broken the light unit and cost me greatly for the replacement D4 headlight unit.
(I had a similar hit with a grouse in a car (with no guards) a few years before, the light unit fragmented and the guts of the bird were encased in the broken light & shards of glass ..... not a pretty sight or clean-up job)

Each to their own.

FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

not saying I wouldn't have them, they do individualise the car and IMO look decent. But they only protect against larger debris or wildlife like your Buzzard or the grouse etc.

As an example I was driving up the A1 to work yesterday morning, passing a line of lorries. One of them appeared to throw some small object up from the road which hit the front of my Ewok. This was rapidly followed by a huge amount of the same objects which were falling out from the trailer. They appeared to be root vegetables or something. They would have gone through the gaps on any light guard.

Yes agree, and there's always the unprotected windscreen for stray stones/objects to hit. Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

when we all fitted the sump guard and the tank guard, we didn't buy the BacoFoil version.
NO ! the guards are made of 6mm aluminium and are 'fit-for-purpose'

Then why fit plastic lamp guards ........... they are NOT guards ..... if anything they are 'Trim'.

I rest my case .... yet again.

I think you have about as much chance of solo winning the £123m Euro lottery ticket as finding a complete HST kit. They were rare back in the days of them being an option and 2nd hand are nigh on impossible.

Have you thought about Sport/Dynamic kits, which were the newer versions of the HST kits ?

Powerfuluk.co.uk do the parts if you have the money.

Well you got to be in it to win it even if I manage to get the odd bit it’s a bonus? I don’t think the front bumper corners fit my car with the dynamic kit? Unless someone can tell me any different Question
