My FL2 passes its MOT but has slight steering knock

Well, today my FL2 went in for its MOT, yes it passed, with advisory on brake disc replacement, which I tend to do on every 2nd brake pad change.

Whilst under the vehicle the inspector could hear a 'knock' when steering was more from 'full lock to full lock' and back again. He studied it for some time, although he was not able to find where the 'knock' was coming from. He looked at both track rod ends and the steering box. But could not find any play in any of the steering components.

After the MOT he raised it up on the ramp again, but with me underneath, I too could hear the slight knock, although neither of us could put it down to any one component ......

Has anyone else come across this ???

.

Seems a bit pointless showing a layman, are you supposed to get out a mechanics tool kit to fix it after wife diagnoses the problem! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
