Travel Insurance Following Cancer Surgery

Having had recent surgery etc I am having to try and see how insurable I am to travel as I am on further treatment of Immunatherapy.

Its been a few long telephone conversations with medical screening done by a computer and absolutely stupid prices like £3,000 plus for a 2 week trip to Canada.

Last call with a company called Insurance With was more evidence based off a computer and it looks like I can get solid cover for £269.07p. Will see what the written quote looks like as I have 28 days to decide.

The price sounds quite good, sadly they dont like paying out like all insurance companies. I have an insurance package from when I was a Police Officer that I have kept up in retirement, worth the money as it covers RAC and world wide travel insurance all year round, however I was diagnosed with COPD a couple of years back, my lung capacity was down to 50% two years on and I am down to 30%, the insurance company have been very good, they hiked the charge by a huge £30 for the year! I guess they think I have two years max left so are being kind to me Laughing 2014 Freelander 2 XS TD4

Depends on cover I know YB but seems a very good price we were trying to get insurance for the mother in law to visit Canada but with her dodgy ticker we got quotes from 2k up to 13k Shocked If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

We have a branch of the family where one daughter lives in Kenya, when her UK based Mum started to get ill in her 90's and in need of care they decided to send Mum (with her agreement) to live in Nairobi (she had lived there before) where the daughter's house maids could look after her. It worked out well, they didn't bother with health insurance (or even a return ticket) and the family paid any medical bills and staff wages and the old dear got 24 hour care in a nice equatorial climate and the cost was very reasonable by UK standards. Provided extra employment for locals and it beats sitting in a nursing home in the UK. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Scotland

Why the heck do you need to travel ( & contribute to global warming for no important reason ). Confused

You live in Yorkshire .... start exploring that.

You've also got Wales, Ireland ..... and even England. Rolling Eyes

And of course you've got the vast and stunning expanse of Scotland and its islands to appreciate.

My passport expired 5 years ago and I've absolutely no need (or want) to renew it.

Just my opinion of course. Wink FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Romp that’s a good point.

Was planned before I was diagnosed. It’s for my wife’s retirement celebration and I am determined to fulfill that for her. Today I am fighting fit, honestly but things could change very quickly.

I suspect soon we will be in a nice van if I am spared doing the UK and sticking two fingers up to the travel insurance 🌎 FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Have you made contact with your local cancer support group? They may be able to help point you in the right direction.

As my wife is now insured by InsuranceWith because of identical problems to YorkyB, I am extremely interested in your statement that they don't like paying out. Please can you expand on this with personal experience/facts/rumours? The whole point of taking out this insurance was solely for the purpose of repatriation or local medical assistance as a victim of secondary breast cancer; we not bothered about flight cancellations and lost luggage. etc. They being very minor irritations compared to the medical requirement.
