Car does not start

1st day of the new year, and car does not start....
Gives HDC fault, transmission fault, engine fault, reduced traction.
Battery checked is ok, AA can't fix it, fault codes keep coming back.
Any idea? Tomorrow the car will be brought to the dealer Big Cry 'per aspera ad astra'

This is a typical result of a low battery. Are you absolutely sure your battery is ok? Have you charged it? I am not sure if an extra earth strap was fitted in 2013, if not, then do that (lots of information in the forum for that - search "earth strap"). Charge the battery and do a do a hard reset before spending out on a garage.

AA did try with a booster, then a hard reset, charged the battery, checked the battery, reset the fault codes but no result. Sad 'per aspera ad astra'

A bad earth will definitely give you those error messages. I hope that will fix it, otherwise I am stumped! Good luck.

A quick and easy way to prove / disprove the earth is the issue is use a jump lead as a temporary second earth if you have any. Thumbs Up 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep

I am sure that this type of fault will become more and more common in ALL cars as they get older.

Note to myself --- do not forget to extend warranty. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Nine hours? One imagines that whatever was on the end of a bad connection would show itself as having 'lost communication with' or some such once the car had been plugged in?

Cars are certainly very electrically and electronically complex but the tools to see into that complexity are available or is that just naivety on my part?

There was no cummuncation between the computers (pcm) or diagnosic equipment. That's what made it difficult. 'per aspera ad astra'
