FL2 electric hand brake model.. caliper to hub bolt torque?

Does anyone know the torque setting for the M12 caliper to hub bolt on the electric handbrake model...
can't see it anywhere?...

I have the Haynes manual for "2006 to 2014 (56 to 64 reg) Diesel " (sic)

However it makes no mention of the electric hand brake (EPB) only the cable version. Jules

I know.. last 3 year had EHB but its not refered to much?
Looking on Evogue sites they say 65 NM?... anyway, its down at 105 (max my torque wrench will do)... But it just didn't feel like 110 when I removed them IYKWIM.

Also... for years I've been re-using bolts... why new ones now?.. is it for the thread lock?.. i've used threadlock when putting them back... at 110 nm they are not stretch bolts.. and they were in good condition??

I have always reused bolts and used a bit of locktite on them. As far as I am aware the only reason to use new bolts is that they come with the blue threadlock already applied 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

agreed... I've done this on everything for years??.. Rolling Eyes

also, just checked with a mate of mine who runs a garage... they never replace unless the head it mashed, and they have done thousands without issue... Smile

It seems a little odd that the caliper carrier brackets alone call for new bolts. The rear guide pins don't but new bolts are supplied with each set of pads. The front pads though, don't get a set of new guide pin bolts thrown in.

I just bought front and rear bolts for a little over £2.50 average each* - they will be on the car for a long time so I don't really mind that - the silly thing is that I also bought Locktite for the front guide pins - same bolts re-used.


* iirc, the front M14 bolts were less expensive than the rear M12's.

Yes, I was thinking 'you don't do it on the front' and the 30NM ones are not stressed at all anyway...

I bought Britparts so no bolts in my pads, thats another reason I re-fit the originals... don't read about doing it until after its done LOL

Britparts... any good??
