Hard to change gear/clunking sound

Hi all

Hoping you can shed some light on an issue I have with my FL2.

Vehicle is a 2007 model, 85k, clutch replaced at 75k.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to change gear (particularly between 1 &2, and 2 & 3). You depress the clutch try to move the selector but it is really difficult to engage the next gear. With a bit of force, it will go in but it’s definitely not right.

Coupled with this I have noticed an irregular clunking noise coming from what feels like the gear box area. This is most noticeable when the clutch is depressed and the vehicle is slowing down.

Any thoughts massively appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

For info, and anybody else experiencing similar symptoms. This turned out to be a failed dual mass flywheel and clutch.

Cost £850 to repair through local mechanic.

Been quoted about £1100 for a complete clutch replacement, just because slave cylinder is probably sticking / failing. Advice is to replace everything, since the big job is getting to everything ? Opinions ?
