Hi all,

What a great and informative forum this is, learnt a lot about my FL2...

However I've noticed a slight oil weep from the timing belt cover, its not too serious but i am more concerned if its causing problems with oil contamination on the timing belt...anyone else's look like this? Ive tightened all the turbo hoses (there was a slight bit of oil coming from these) but its still weeping

Update

So i undid the top timing belt cover and managed to pull it back enough to see that the tensioner pulley (directly under the camshaft pulley at the top) was covered in thick black oil, and there was also evidence of oil contamination on the belt...(see pic..not the best pic in the world but you can just see the tensioner covered in oil)

Its off to the garage next week for a closer look..

So a word of caution if theres oil gathering near the sump/bottom of the timing case cover, check your belts..a rubber belt contaminated with oil will perish quicker and then cause a whole other problem if/when it eventually fails
