freelander 2 not starting

Hi, I am in trouble with my LR2 since last couple of months. Sometime it does not start. I had to call the rescue people for twice but they could not find any issue with the car and helped me to take it to the garage. The local garage could not find any issue with the car. The car works again after 20 hours after failing to start. When it starts then seems no problem ever. The problem is happening in two weeks interval since last two months. I had to take train to my work yesterday but today morning was better for me. Don’t know about tomorrow. Anyway Idea what’s going on with my Freelander 2?

Good luck and welcome Rolling Eyes If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Arlander2,

A no start can be caused by many factors

How many miles?

What year? Edit 2007

Automatic or Manual transmission?

Does the starter motor engage when you press the start stop button? (If No then you should measure the voltage at the solenoid when someone else presses the start button.)

List of common items that could cause no start

- Low battery voltage for Key fob (replace battery)

- Starter motor brushes faulty (replace starter)

- Faulty relay for starter motor (replace relay)

- Faulty clutch pedal switch (replace switch)

- Faulty brake pedal switch (replace switch)

- Faulty steering column lock (replace module)

- Faulty start/stop button (replace button)

This is only a partial list

Good luck

Paul
